The search for the man who reportedly threw hot coffee on the infant has caught on CCTV camera.

An international manhunt is currently underway for a guy suspected of attacking an infant in a park in the northern Australian state of Queensland by hurling boiling coffee at it.

Detective Inspector Paul Dalton of the Queensland Police stated on Monday that teams from other countries were collaborating with law enforcement to locate the man, a 33-year-old foreign national, who is believed to have left the nation four days following the reported assault.

As he sat with his mother on the lawn at Hanlon Park in Brisbane on August 27, the guy is said to have thrown the steaming hot coffee on the nine-month-old child, only known as Luka, causing severe burns to his face, arms, and legs. Police have published closed-circuit television footage of the man fleeing the scene while sporting a black hat, glasses, and a blue checkered shirt.

According to Dalton, erroneous information regarding the man's identify and the suspect's personal observation of the police action caused the early investigations to be delayed.

The inquiry became extremely complicated as it quickly became clear to us that this individual was conversant with police procedures and was undoubtedly engaging in countersurveillance, Dalton informed reporters. Following the attack, the man took a taxi to the heart of Brisbane, crossed the state line into New South Wales by automobile, and boarded a plane out of Sydney Airport on August 31. "We weren't able to identify the face in the CCTV until September 1st," Dalton stated, declining to reveal the man's identity or whereabouts to avoid complicating the probe.

"I was in the examination center when we put an identity to the face, and it was an extremely joyful room, only for us to do a search in 15 minutes and find out we lost him," Dalton told journalists after police recognized the man soon after he ran away. According to Dalton, the man was a "itinerant worker" who had visited and left Australia on different visas starting in 2019 and had last been there in January 2022. The man's motive remains a mystery to the police. "I'm scratching my head all the time. No motive can be found," Dalton stated. You would think that a reasonable, normal individual wouldn't do such a thing. However, that isn't always the case.

It was "all really fast and chaotic," the boy's mother, who cannot be recognized for legal explanations, told local media at the time. The mother claimed, "I just began to scream for helps and shouting out that it was boiling and that my son was burned. I had no idea what had happened at the time." As the youngster was carried to the hospital, where he reportedly underwent numerous surgeries for severe burns to his chin, neck, chest, and back, bystanders hurried over to douse him with water.

Cops at the time published CCTV footage of the man and asked anyone who knew him to come forward. "The video is very clear. On August 28, Dalton told the mainstream press, "I'm extremely sure that if you're looking at the video and you know that specific individual in there, you're going to know who it is." Police were led by the examination to Victoria and New South Wales, where the individual had resided at multiple homes while holding a variety of employment and vacation visas. The police claimed to have discussed his movements with his colleagues.
