Laura Loomer,Who is the conspiratorial theorist accompanying Trump?

Laura Loomer is a frequent presence at gatherings supporting the former president of the United States Laura Loomer, a hard-right conspiratorial theorists, has just joined Donald Trump on his election trail, raising concerns among some Republicans about the notorious former congressional candidate's impact on him.

Ms Loomer is recognized for her anti-Muslim views and conspiratorial ideas, including her assertion that the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 were a " within job" carried out by the US government. She accompanied Trump at a 9/11 commemoration event on Wednesday, raising eyebrows and sparking indignation in certain US media. On Tuesday, the 31-year-old flew to Philadelphia on Trump's plane to attend the debate about the president.

Probably the most famous moment of the debate was when Trump reiterated an unfounded accusation that illegal immigrants from Haiti had been devouring domestic pets in a tiny Ohio city. "They consume the pets of the people that reside there," he informed me.

Later, city officials informed media Verify that there were "no reliable reports" that this had occurred.

Trump said he was repeating comments he had heard on television, but the hypothesis was first presented by Ms Loomer just one day earlier the debate. On Monday, the fringe commentator and social media star repeated the charges to her 1.2 million followers on X.

While it is unclear how much access Ms Loomer has to Trump, and his vice presidential nominee JD Vance has also disseminated the false hypothesis, Ms Loomer's tweet and attendance in Philadelphia have caused some Republicans to accuse her for the former president's unsubstantiated remark on stage. An anonymous person connected to the Trump team told US media outlet Semafor that they were "100%" worried about Ms Loomer's relationship with Trump. "Regardless of any constraints the Trump campaign has imposed on her, I don't believe it is working," the insider said.

However, a different source told the site that Ms. Loomer was a "positive person to be around" and that she did not meddle with the debate arrangements. Republican strategist Dennis Lennox was far more scathing in his assessment of Trump's debate performance and Ms. Loomer. He said to Semafor, "That's what you get when you fly it, stay in the Fox News-X bubble, and rely on Matt Gaetz, let alone Laura Loomer." The BBC reached out to Ms. Loomer multiple times for comment, but she never replied. However, she claimed to be working "independently" for Trump on X, the former Twitter, calling him "truly our nation's last hope".

"To the many journalists who have been calling me and compulsively requesting me to speak to them today, the answer is no," she stated. "I am extremely occupied working on my stories and research and don’t have time to spend on your conspiracy fantasies." The self-described independent journalist was born in Arizona in 1993 and has contributed to Project Veritas and Infowars, among other organizations, as an activist and pundit. She unsuccessfully campaigned as a Republican for Florida's US House of Representatives seat in 2020, losing to Democrat Lois Frankel, despite having Trump's backing. Two years later, she made another attempt in a Republican primary in a different Florida district, this time trying to unseat Representative Daniel Webster.

She is now well-known for her outspoken backing of Trump as well as her promotion of a large list of conspiracy theories, such as the ones claiming that Kamala Harris is not black and that the son of billionaire George Soros was urging the death of Trump through cryptic letters. She claimed that because of these statements, she was banned from several social media sites, including Facebook, Instagram, and even Uber and Lyft, for making derogatory remarks about Muslim drivers. At one point, she called herself a "proud Islamophobe."

Ms. Loomer has been spotted at Trump's Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, on numerous occasions when she attends events in his favor. She took his plane to Iowa earlier this year, where he acknowledged her on stage at an event. Trump remarked, "You want her on your side." Additionally, the former president posted a number of her films on Truth Social. Additionally, the New York Times revealed last year that Trump had indicated interest in using her for his campaign, only backing down after senior advisors voiced worries that she would jeopardize his chances of winning the presidency. In an NBC News article from January, a Trump official stated of Ms. Loomer, "Everyone who works for him thinks she's a liability."

This week, Ms. Loomer's remarks regarding Senator Harris's race and a tweet in which she stated that the White House "will smell like curry" if Harris—who is mostly Indian—is elected infuriated Marjorie Taylor Greene, another vocal Trump supporter. Ms. Loomer's remarks, according to Greene, were "appalling and incredibly racist" and "did not represent who we are as Republicans or MAGA." This incited a barrage of angry responses to be directed at her. Just one day had passed since Ms. Loomer attended events with Trump honoring the 9/11 anniversary in New York and Pennsylvania before this conflict broke out within Trump's inner circle. When questioned by the Associated Press about her participation, she stated that she was "invited as a guest.
