After five cancellations, a single swim session was held.

Despite continuous worries about water quality, the entire marathon swimming familiarization session in the Seine River on Wednesday proceeded as planned.

The river's toxicity had forced the session to be canceled five times. It gives the Paris 2024 organizers a break after problems with activities held on the Seine have plagued these Olympics.

Due to insufficient water quality, the men's triathlon had to be postponed by one day. Tests revealed that the water's bacterial levels had fallen below the necessary threshold, necessitating the cancellation of the marathon swimming familiarization.

The Seine's bacterial count has increased due to heavy rainfall, but it has also decreased due to warmer temperatures. The men's 10 km marathon swimming event is scheduled on Friday, while the women's is scheduled for Thursday.

The organizers stated that the 10km races might be shifted to Vaires-sur-Marne, east of Paris, with the rowing and canoeing contests are held, in the event that the Seine is considered unsafe on the day of the marathon swimming.
