Previous executives of the Chhatra League yell "bhua, bhua" towards Obaidul Quader.
During an event on Wednesday afternoon, the previous leaders of the the country Chhatra League, the educational section of the main opposition Bangladesh Awami League, vented their displeasure by yelling "bhua, bhua" at Obaidul Quader, the chief of staff of the ruling Awami League of Bangladesh.
Quader ended his remarks at the gathering, which took place on the next day at the party's headquarters in Dhaka, before speaking with any of participants.
The purpose of the conversation was to provide a forum for discussing the continuing protests. But Quader's unwillingness to engage with the guests caused an instantaneous response. Bhua, bhua, yelled the enraged crowd as Quader concluded his statement and walked out after confronting the previous group of students.
Numerous past leaders of the Chhatra League vented their ire on the internet. They critiqued the conference's conclusion and posted pictures from the occasion. Obaidul Quader was supposed to have a viewpoint interchange with the outgoing college presidents, the party told reporters, but that never happened. Participants also observed that this structure of meetings, in which top executives avoid genuine conversation, is customary.
