An Israeli strike on a Gaza colony killed 29 people, according to the hospital.

Casualties from the strike were transported to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.

According to hospital sources, an Israeli air strike on a displaced persons camp outside a school in southern Gaza killed at least 29 Palestinians and injured scores more.

According to Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry, the strike occurred near the gate of al-Awda school in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis, and the initial death toll was 25.

One video depicted more than a dozen dead and critically injured people, including several children, on the floor of a nearby hospital.

The Israeli military said it was investigating the reports, which came a week after it ordered inhabitants to evacuate Abasan al-Kabira and other neighborhoods of eastern Khan Younis, forcing tens of thousands to escape.

One source at Nasser Hospital, where the injured were brought, said they expected the death toll to rise.

This is the fourth attack on or near schools that house displaced people in the last four days.

The Israeli military claimed it launched the first three strikes because Hamas lawmakers, police personnel, and fighters were using them as bases.

According to the Hamas-run health ministry, 16 people were killed Saturday in an attack on a UN-run school in the urban Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, which housed approximately 2,000 displaced persons.

The following day, a hit on a church-run school in Gaza City killed a senior Hamas administration member as well as three others, according to local reports.

On Monday night, several people were reportedly injured in a walkout against another UN-run school in Nuseirat.
