Millionaire banker quits after punching a woman in a video at a New York Pride event.

Following criticism for hitting a Black lady at a New York Pride celebration, a rich investment banker has resigned from his position. The information was verified by Melissa Chiles, a Moelis & Company representative, in an email to The Independent. She announced, "Jonathan Kaye has resigned and is no longer with the firm." His profile was removed from the Moelis website on Monday. A video from earlier this month showed Mr Kaye, the head of Moelis & Co.'s global business services franchise in Manhattan, striking a lady in the face and causing her to fall to the ground in front of onlookers at a Park Slope Brooklyn Pride event.

The unidentified lady, 38, told police that she was attacked and suffered cuts, a black eye, and a broken nose. The male said in the video that she "threw s*** all over me." The anonymous woman and Mr. Kaye, a Jewish guy, allegedly got into a verbal fight about the Israel-Hamas conflict.

According to a representative for Mr. Kaye, he was ''in dread for his personal safety when he was surrounded by an irate throng of agitators who physically assaulted him and threw unknown liquids on him.'' The spokesperson stated, "Given the sharp rise in antisemitic incidents, any Jewish person in this situation would naturally feel threatened and feel the need to defend themselves and return safely to their family." "He could not identify any of these individuals and was left bloodied from the attack," the spokesperson said.

His company placed him on leave after the video went viral, according to the New York Post. Following the receipt of an official assault report, the New York City Police Department last week acknowledged that it had launched an investigation into Mr. Kaye.

Previously, Mr. Kaye was the managing director of CitiBank's Global Mergers & Acquisitions Group. He apparently graduated with honours from Duke University School of Law, has a bachelor's degree from Tufts University, and resides in a $4 million mansion in the borough's Park Slope district.
